Birthplace:
Germany (My dad was in the Army at the time) but I’ve called San Antonio home since first grade. Family: Married for 30 years to Jill; Two daughters , Jenny & Anna, both grown and working (yea!) Hobbies: Hunting, fishing, target shooting (archery and firearms), reading. Odd fact: When I came to Northwest Hills I had dark brown hair. Not now! There are plenty of other odd facts about me, but I won’t go there now. Education: Bachelor’s in Social Science, Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX;
Master’s of Divinity, Iliff School of Theology, Denver, CO; Doctor of Ministry, Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, KY(No, they don’t call me “Doctor Trawick.” I won’t let them.). Where to find me other than the church: The gym, running errands with Jill, Starbucks (just Grande bold coffee, no “dessert in a cup” for me), the great outdoors. Why I’m in the ministry: As a young adult I came to faith in Christ and my life received new meaning, purpose, and value. I grew up in a good church and learned plenty of Bible stories, but somehow managed to miss the real meaning of Jesus. I want others to know the wonder of the good news of Jesus and experience the difference he makes. I try to preach and teach in a way that anyone can understand. I want to build a church where it’s hard to miss the truth. Greatest joys in ministry: Praying with someone as they receive Christ into their life, watching “the lights come on” as church goers become Christ-followers, Seeing members become ministers and some even become paid staff. So many great people and good friends. Playing trumpet in the worship band.
