Northwest Hills United Methodist Church

I am overjoyed to be your new Children’s Minister. I am excited and committed to all of the ministry opportunities that are sure to come my way.  I cannot tell you how welcomed I have felt by all of you; the staff, volunteers and especially, the children. I have known for a long time that this community is special, and, I have seen more than ever how the body of Christ pulls together to really become the hands and feet of Jesus. I am truly inspired by witnessing and participating in the joyful work that takes place in this very special place called Northwest Hills.

God has allowed me to be in ministry sharing the love of Christ with children and youth for the last six years. I spent a few years in Austin at Lake Hills church working with high school girls. I was also blessed to be able to serve high school girls here at Northwest Hills these last couple of years. I especially enjoyed leading them in a Bible study in my home last summer. I have been teaching in public education for the last eight years. In Austin, I taught at Barton Creek Elementary and I have spent the last four years at Huebner Elementary. I have worked with children of all ages but have most recently taught Kindergarten (4 years), 2^nd grade (2 years) and 3^rd grade (1 year.) I have loved the time I spent in public schools and was always blessed to have the most precious children and families in my classes. I feel so fortunate now that God has given me the opportunities to not only spend my time with children but also to teach them about God’s great love for them!

Jeff and I have been married for nearly four years and have also been raising my brother Patrick “Lee” since around that time. He will be a senior at next year and has been a wonderful blessing to our family. Jeff, has been working for the San Antonio Missions Baseball Club for the last 21 years and has loved every minute of it! We also have three dogs and a cat that keep us busy and well exercised, especially Sunshine, our yellow Labrador. When I am not serving children or my family, I can be found hand stamping cards and other crafty projects, gardening, jogging, organizing something or dancing ballet!
