The Ark: Where Kids Climb Aboard to Discover God’s Love
At the Ark, we want children to...
- Come to faith in Jesus Christ by hearing the message of the Gospel, over and over again.
- Find Assurance and Comfort in Jesus knowing that when life is hard, Jesus is with them.
- Feel Safe and know they can ask questions (even hard ones!)
- Learn to Love God and Others and practice their faith in ways that will deepen their love for God and neighbor.
- Know They Belong and have a meaningful place in the life of the church.
At The Ark, children can know Jesus and grow in Jesus, all while being surrounded by a community who will walk alongside them as they discover the incredible love of God. Come, climb aboard!
Children’s Church
Children’s Church is offered during the sermon on Sunday mornings at both services. Children hear a Bible message and play games that reinforce the message. Children are returned to the service during the last worship song, or, if it is a Communion Sunday, during Communion so they can participate.
Sunday School
Infants - 2 years: Our nursery staff leads this Sunday School class, guiding your child’s heart toward God through songs, play, and stories.
3-4 years: Nursery staff lead this Sunday School class engaging the children in play, stories, and toddler-sized lessons that engage the body, mind, and heart
*Kindergarten - 2nd Grade: This class has lots of hands-on learning as children are guided through the Great Story of the Bible and become disciples of Jesus
*3rd - 5th Grades: This class helps kids explore and mature in the growing faith through skits, Scripture readings, hands-on activities, and more.
*The curriculum for our Kindergarten - 5th Graders is The Biggest Story, which explores the full Bible over two years through material and activities meant to engage all the senses.
Nursery
Northwest Hills offers childcare during service for infants-3 years old. Our nursery space is staffed by trained and background checked volunteers, and well supplied with toys, books and playsets to help engage and serve babies well.
Cry Room
We also have a Cry Room that is available for mothers and fathers with infants. This room is reserved exclusively for parents with infants to enjoy the service in a more private and quiet environment.
